WATCH: Congressman Acts Like Jerk to Officer, Then Gowdy Shows Up and DESTROYS Him

This past two years have been filled with moments that will be remembered for generations to come, as well as smaller moments that still were incredibly awesome.

Congressman Trey Gowdy had some epic moments during 2015. One of them was when Democrat Congressman Hank Johnson was grilling a law enforcement officer over illegal immigration.

During a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on immigration, Johnson tried to accuse the officer — Pinal County, Arizona, Sheriff Paul Babeau — of not supporting any immigration from “south of the border” — an accusation which Babeu vehemently denied.
Johnson started Babeu asking about whether his department needed armored vehicles to enforce the law at the border.

“We don’t,” Babeu said. “And this is where …”

At that point, Johnson cut off Babeu and tried to move on. That’s where Gowdy stepped in and came to the sheriff’s defense.

“No sir. Sheriff you may answer the question. You cannot ask a question and then not allow the witness to answer,” said Gowdy, the subcommittee chairman.

Johnson tried to interrupt Gowdy repeatedly, but Gowdy simply ignored him and allowed Babeu to explain why his department didn’t need a SWAT vehicle.

Throughout Babeu’s answer, Johnson kept trying to bring up a “point of order,” but he was simply ignored. At the end of Babeu’s testimony, Gowdy said that Johnson’s time was up and moved on.

This clip is absolutely amazing because it shows that Gowdy isn’t going to let some stuck-up congressman walk all over a law enforcement officer because he doesn’t respect him.

Gowdy has stood up for Americans before, and he will continue to do so for as long as he is in Congress. He really is one of the good guys.
