Daughter Dies In Tragic Accident. While Cleaning Up Her Room, Mom Finds Hidden Letter

Losing a child is no doubt one of the hardest things a person can go through. It is a loss that is sure to leave an empty spot on a parent’s heart forever.

When Cindy lost her 16-year-old daughter in a tragic car accident, she was devastated beyond belief, but, with the help of her loving family and some letters that she stumbled across along the way, she was able to grasp onto hope in her time of need.

A month following her daughter, Macy’s death, Cindy found 25 letters that Macy had written to her on her birthday the year before. The letters were designed to offer her mother inspiration and comfort when she needed it, but little did she know at the time, those letters would be immensely helpful on the long road of grief that she had ahead of her.

All of the letters are labeled with instructions, each one designated for a certain emotion. “Open when…you miss me,” or “Open when…you’re excited about something,” are two of the many that were discovered. The first letter was discovered just one week after Macy passed away, while Cindy was cleaning out her car. “Open when…you can’t sleep.”

“I want you to know that I love you,” Macy wrote to her mother, in this letter. “I feel like I don’t tell you that enough. And since you can’t sleep and you’re probably stressed about something. I need you to know that I love you.”

Cindy was inspired after she read the first letter, and instantly began looking for the rest. She ended up finding all but one, which she is still searching for. She even started a Facebook page called, “Macy’s Journey,” where she shares the letters from her daughter. The site already has 6,000 followers and offers inspiration for all in various times of need.

“Most of them are definitely uplifting,” Cindy said. “They’re so on point, and there are occasions where she knew me way too well. It’s the best gift that a child can give a parent. It’s like she knew, but she didn’t know,” Cindy said. “Each letter has helped me in so many ways. It feels like she’s there with me.”

In response to one of the letters, Cindy shared the following message on the Facebook memorial page…

“This one was so hard to open. You don’t know how much mommy misses you! There is not a second of the day that goes by and I don’t think of you. You are my rock, my best friend, my everything. Your brothers are doing such a great job holding me, Hope, and your Daddy together. I am truly thankful that me, Hope, and Daddy was able to have such a great relationship throughout the years to be able to share every moment, every memory we had with you as a family. If you could only see us three now. Our bond is stronger than before. There’s not a day that goes by we don’t talk to each other. I am very thankful for the family YOU created before and even now. We love you so very much baby girl!! Mommy misses you more than words could ever express! Goodnight my sweet, beautiful angel.”
